Root Canals

A root canal is when the pulp chamber of the tooth (which includes the nerve and blood vessels) is cleaned and shaped then filled with a natural substance called gutta-percha. This treatment is necessary when the nerve tissue is damaged to avoid the problem deteriorating and causing an abscess.

Having root damage is painful (abscesses are even worse) but a root canal procedure is not, despite common beliefs. Fort Des Moines Dental specializes is restoring your dental health painlessly and efficiently.

Our Patients

“I love my smile! The flexible trays that Dr. Patrick made for me made my teeth shine. It was so easy and quick, I’m just upset I didn’t start going to Fort Des Moines Dental five years ago.”

Elizabeth R.

“My children and I have been coming to Fort Des Moines Dental since 1994! What started out as a fun place to pick a toy out of the treasure chest for a good checkup became a great place for all our dental needs. Friendly staff, attentive hygienists and well-spoken dentists keep us coming back, twenty-three years and counting!”
